CAROL’S STORY GRIEF. FAITH. PURPOSE. Carol is the definition of resilience. After experiencing the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Desiree, to breast cancer, Carol found herself learning how to carry unimaginable grief while continuing to move forward alongside her husband and family. Through her faith, Carol found the strength to keep going—to choose love, grace, forgiveness, and purpose even through some of the darkest moments of her life. But Desiree’s story didn’t end with her passing. Carol transformed her grief into purpose by creating the Dez Liv2Luv Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring her daughter and keeping her legacy alive by making a difference in the lives of others. She also continues that legacy through her grandchildren, giving them a connection to the mother they lost and a story of love they can carry with them. Carol reminds us that grief and strength can exist together. Faith doesn’t mean a life without pain. Sometimes it means trusting that there can still be light after the darkness.
